About Us

Dylan Bleeker began his musical voyage at an early age as a drummer and percussionist. He begged his parents to buy a drumset so he could “bang away,” which his parents somehow put up with at all hours of the night. At age twelve, he began playing guitar by ear and at fifteen he pursued classical piano at the Conservatory. As a college student, Dylan studied as piano and percussion performance majors, but his true love focused on writing popular music and experimenting with sounds. Early and long-lasting influences include the Pink Floyd, the Smashing Pumpkins and Phish. Later influences include the noted classical composer Curtis Stotlar, film composer Danny Elfman and Sufjan Stevens. Dylan is quite comfortable performing as a rock and Blues piano player, guitarist, and singer, and though he doesn’t limit himself to one musical genre, his early influences are distinctly heard throughout his music. Dylan is also a capable electric bass player and Latin percussionist and is currently studying the ukulele. In third-grade, he penned lyrics to his first song, Three Things I Like About My Country, and as a thirteen-year-old, Dylan and his best friend formed a rock band, The City and Stars, that culminated in writing and recording an original, full-length album in his basement by age sixteen. Dylan has lived in New York City for the past five years.

Ty Bleeker, also known as the Songwriter Geek and the Piano Man, at the urging of his lower-middle-class parents began taking accordion lessons as a six-year-old.  After several failed attempts playing various instruments including violin, trumpet, drums and voice, Ty left music in his early teens to follow his friends playing junior high school sports.  Then at age sixteen his parents scraped up $300 to buy an old piano, and after two years of intense piano lessons followed by an awful entrance audition, he was accepted on a contingent basis as a music major at the University of Wisconsin.  By his sophomore year, which included several torturous classical theory and composition classes, and more classical piano pieces than he could tolerate – along with the realization that he didn’t want to graduate with a music degree to end up teaching high school music somewhere – Ty left the music program to perform.  Experiences that followed included groups playing classic rock cover tunes, easy listening, a Gospel quartet, Blues jam bands and even a Polka band.   Ty is first-and-foremost a songwriter and piano player, and although he can write in any style, he prefers SCR, jazz, Blues, country, and rock & roll.  He currently lives in the Midwest and is an active musician and songwriter.

As a team, we love to write any type of music, and we know how to write quality songs quickly. Since we are always writing music, we decided to take a challenge presented by a friend: why not post a new album to the web each month for a year? Will we make it? We don’t know. But, we know how to write and with our varied musical backgrounds there is no style we can’t handle. Other than the female vocal parts and a few guest appearances by friends, we do all our own writing, recording, mixing and producing. That’s right! Almost everything you hear, we write and record and mix and master. Join us to see how far we get this year. Any work or support you can give us, we appreciate. The more we generate through our music, the better the chance we have to complete the “New-Album-Each-Month-to-the-Web-for-a-Year” project and the less we need to string together outside jobs to make it work.

Best wishes for good music and good listening in all you do,
