bleeker were formed almost by accident.
In 2002 lead vocalist/guitarist Harris Canning was working as a solo artist in pubs and clubs in and around Edinburgh.
Vocalist Lauren Alari was, at that time, a performing arts student who would occasionally accompany him on a few songs when
she went along to his gigs. The couple quickly realised how well they worked together and began writing their own material.
They were soon attracting appreciative audiences wherever they played. Performing mainly as a covers band in order to get
work they would throw in a few of their own songs during gigs and soon found that audiences were asking
them to play more of their own material.
Belushi's, Edinburgh, is one of the band's regular venues and recently
sponsored a very successful UK tour, including gigs in London, Brighton, Bath & Newquay to promote their music.
bleeker continue to work regularly throughout the UK
and have just released their latest album " the way it is" an excellent 11 track album with loads of hook-laden tunes and
addictive melodies.
